Why aren't we able to get temporary parking permits at our local precinct anymore?
Actually, there's been no change in policy that would interfere with residents' ability to obtain temporary parking permits at their local stations. Q: Where can one find updates about malfunctioning red light cameras?
The Police Department is responsible for the cameras. You can check the Department's website at www.mpdc.org or call your local police precinct.
Q: What measures are being taken to remove invalid points assigned to driver's licenses by malfunctioning red light cameras?
The Red Light Camera Program is administered by the Metropolitan Police Department. However, the Department of Motor Vehicles is responsible for tickets. The Police Department has asked DMV to eliminate any points for motorists who were ticketed by a red light camera on the H Street, NE, Bridge. That camera is no longer there.
The DMV is currently reviewing its files and any motorists who received points will be notified of the removal of points. More information about can be obtained from DMV's customer service center at 727-5000.
