The District Traffic Volume Map depicts the Annual Average Weekday Traffic (AAWDT) at various locations on the District's roadways. Count data is collected (both directions) at pre-selected locations on Highway Performance and Monitoring System links (HPMS) on a three-year cycle. Counters are also placed for 24 hours during weekdays on a sample of 100 local links annually. Twenty-four hour machine counts are adjusted to day of the week and finally adjusted to Average Annual weekday (AAWT) traffic.
