Traffic Alert June 29, 2001 Resurfacing To Start On 16TH Street ` On Monday, July 2nd, weather permitting, the District Department of Transportation District will start the resurfacing of 16th Street, NW from U Street to M Street. There will be some traffic impacts. During rush-hour, two lanes will be kept open; in non rush-hour, one or two lanes may be closed; however, cross traffic from M to U Streets will be maintained. Some weekend work is anticipated. The $3.8 million contract is with Fort Myer Construction Corp.
