Traffic Alert for Immediate Release Thursday, March 14, 2002 14th Street and New York Avenue, NW, to be Restricted for Four Weekends Weather permitting, north-south traffic on 14th Street at New York Avenue, NW, will be restricted to one lane in each direction for the next two weekends (March 15-18, 22-25) for pouring of concrete for new 14th Street crosswalks. The work will begin at 7 pm on Fridays and end by 5 am Mondays. Again weather permitting, the work on the New York Avenue crosswalks will take place over the weekends of March 29 - April 1 and April 5 - 8. East-west traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction on New York Avenue. Coordination meetings have been held with affected parties, including the National Press Building, the Marriott Hotel and the downtown Business Improvement District.
