South Capitol Street Corridor Scenario Development Meeting

South Capitol Street GatewayThe District Department of Transportation invites you to a Scenario Development Meeting for the South Capitol Street CorridorAs part of the South Capitol Street Gateway and Improvement Study, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is again seeking ideas from the community. This public meeting will be a forum for the surrounding community to review ideas and provide suggestions about the various improvement options. This is the second in a series of four public meetings.

The meeting will be held at:

     Savoy Elementary School
     2400 Shannon Place, SE
     Saturday, December 7, 2002
     9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Savoy Elementary School is located on Shannon Place in SE. The school is two blocks east of the Anacostia Metrorail station and is accessible by the A2, A4, A6, A8, W2, W6, W8, 90, and 94 Metrobus routes. This location is accessible to persons with limited mobility and disabilities. Any person having special needs or requiring special aid, such as an interpreter for the hearing impaired, is requested to contact DDOT by phone or mail one week in advance (before December 2).

The South Capitol Street Corridor Study is an effort to improve the great neighborhoods and transportation corridors in the nation’s capital. DDOT is studying roadway, transit, bicycle, pedestrian and other transportation improvements for South Capitol Street between Independence Avenue and Suitland Parkway and on New Jersey Avenue between Independence Avenue and M Street.
