Public Invited to Transforming Anacostia Gateway

Learn the latest on Transportation, Land Use and Economic Development Planning in Historic Anacostia.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the DC Office of Planning invite you to make your input on choices and decisions about Anacostia Area Transportation Access Improvements, real estate market conditions in Anacostia, South Capitol Street Bridge improvements, public investments in Anacostia, new transit services coming east of the Anacostia, and safe pedestrian and bicycle connections to the Anacostia Metro Station.

The meeting will be held at:

     Savoy Elementary School
     2400 Shannon Place SE
     (near Anacostia Metro Station - green line

     Meeting Date : November 05, 2003

     5:30pm - 6:30pm Open House

     6:30pm - 9:00pm Workshop

At the Open House, learn about:

  • South Capitol Street study (completed).
  • Anacostia Gateway Transportation Study.
  • AWI Framework Plan and Poplar Point Area Plan.
  • Anacostia Transit Area Plan.
  • Main Street Anacostia.
  • Anacostia Light Rail Demonstration Projects and Transit Alternatives Analysis (a.k.a. DC's Transit Future).
  • Anacostia Government Center
  • And MORE

Directions: The nearest metro station is the Anacostia Metro Station. It is serviced by the 90, 92, 94, P6, U2, A2-9, and B2 bus lines.
