DDOT Traffic Cameras Go Live on the Web
The District of Columbia Department of Transportation has started a live feed of over 50 closed circuit traffic cameras on DDOT site. The television images can also be picked up on the TrafficLand, Inc site along with cameras from nearby jurisdictions. The cameras are for traffic management purposes only and cannot recognize indvidual features or license plates and are not recorded.
Because the cameras are being installed with homeland security funds from Congress, Margret Kellems, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety, joined Dan Tangherlini, Director of Transportation to inaugurate the feed on Dec 23rd.
