At the request of a citizen petition and concurrence from ANC 3/4G, DDOT conducted traffic calming studies on the following streets:

• McKinley Street, NW between the 3400 and 3700 blocks
• Tennyson Street, NW between Western Avenue and Utah Avenue
• Rittenhouse Street, NW between Utah Avenue and Western Avenue
• Upton Street, NW between Reno Road to Wisconsin Avenue

The traffic calming studies looked at potential impacts in approximately a 4 block radius. Keeping these boundaries in mind, DDOT evaluated what combination of traffic calming measures on McKinley Street would improve the safety on McKinley Street while not forcing the same traffic onto surrounding streets.

Please note that the McKinley Street study is still in DRAFT form and based upon the request of ANC 3/4G; DDOT will reevaluate the study and this DRAFT will be replaced. The new version will be posted in three weeks.
