Description:14th Street Bridge Project
DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) continues to make progress on the restoration of
the 14th Street Bridge. Current work activity planned for the next 2-3 months requires a set of
new lane closure patterns. These changes will start on or about Monday, October 26, 2009, weather
permitting. These closures will allow the contractor to conduct repairs to the bridge deck.
The closures will be:
Northbound 14th Street Bridge: single lane closure (right lane)
From Monday, October 26, 2009 through Saturday December 19, 2009,
Weekdays Hours of Closure:
• From 10 am to 2:30 pm, and from 10 pm to 5 am
Weekend Hours of Closure:
• From 10 pm Friday till 5 am the following Monday
South Bound 14th Street Bridge - Double (2) lane weekend closures
From Friday through Monday for the weekends of:
October, Friday 30, 2009 through November, Monday 2, 2009, and
November, Friday 6, 2009 through November, Monday 9, 2009
Hours of South Bound Closures: 10 pm Friday through 5 am Monday
No lane closures will occur during the Thanksgiving holiday time period.
